Ok, so the other day when I took my PCV Valve off the valve cover to paint hte valve cover, I noticced it was not screwed in all of the way.

Well After I put the valve cover back on and was hooking up all of the other stuff, I tryed to screw the PCV valve back into the valve cover and it screws in a couple of turns then stops and I can "pop" it back off by pushing down or up or any other direction on it. At first, I thought maybe I got paint in the threads on the valve cover, but I cleaned them out with a screw driver and it made no difference. Do I have the wrong PCV valve or something?

Ok So yea.. I am almost postive the PCV valve is the wrong thread size. It started to strip the valve cover threads when I was trying to get it in.

then its def the wrong size. i just changed mine out last night...screwed right out and the new one went right back in...no problems.

speaking of tho...is it a warning sign that there was oil pretty much dripping out of my PCV valve?

^ yes

jon be careful you don't strip them entirely. if you do, just drill the hole 1 size larger, retap the hole and install a heli-coil

 yep, but that doesn't mean it was functioning correctly. it could have been clogged shut which would be bad. replacing it is a cheap way to know that it's not causing any problems
