Hey! Im new to the forum! i just got a 01 Eclipse and i havent even had it a year! The problem with it is it wont crank and then it wont stay started after it is cranked! I found out that the BATT terminals are way to big for the BATT. Easy Fix! So my next question is why wont my car stay started! Once i start it if i take my foot off the gas it dies right out like its not getting fuel or something. Im a city girl and i dont want to go to a shop where i know they will take advantage of me. SOmeone please help!

This is a question has so many posible answer it could be anything. But we could start on the basics, but before we could do that give us more detail on the car. Like what model was it? stick or auto trans? And not to be rude but how good is your mechanical abilities? Coz we can say a lot of things here and it might not mean anything to you.

How does the car run when you do get it running? Rev it up...does it feel like it misses maybe a simple tune up, i went through about 100 bucks of shit before i figured the fuel filter was fucked, look at the small shit first and rule it out

lol, i can give you a book with all the posibilities. Sounds like as soon as you let go of the gas it dies meaning you cut off the air. Check idle air and throttle body. thats just going off no info though, tell us more about the car.

Could also be corroded leads on the battery cables or the alternator. This is a very broad problem, and the possibilities on what it could be are countless.
