This would be the epitome of a post gone wrong.

The 6G75 will not drop in. The only motor that does drop in is the 6g72. The 74 works with small mods.

supposedly they are 'limited' at 155...but a friend of mine had his stock 93 up to 170. Havn't heard of 180, but it honestly wouldnt suprise me in the right conditions.

The non turbos are drag limited to 155ish the Turbos speedos go to 180. You will most likely not see that stock

or it will show 180mph but will actually be doing less due to the non-accuracy of the speedo above a certain speed

Oh yeah over 100 MPH the earlier cars that are gear driven are very inaccurate

Eric, what year did they change the gear driven speedometers? Or what year are they less likely to be off?

they're all the same design, but as of '94 the gear had 1 more tooth, making is more accurate. You can replace the pre-94 gear with a post-94 gear, fixing the problem. It only effects the 5-speed trannys manufactured before feb 1993.
