I looking to buy a 99 3.5L Motero and I noticed that the 4x4 lever is a little loose, you can move it from side-side wiggles too much, the lever on my 92 montero is more stiff and you cant move it from side to side.

Does anyone have any idea of what could this be? I was thinking of buying the motero and fixing it but I'm not sure if it's something serious.

any held would be greatly appreciated!!

It's probably just some worn bushes which is not a big deal to replace but you have to ask yourself why they are worn so much. What does the rest of the truck look like such as steering bushes or shocks, worn brake petel, sloppy shifting, etc? Its the little clues that lead to a determination of the overall condition of the vehicle. At the end of the day if you question things and they don't add up its better to just walk away IMO.
