Ok so I was driving my 98 gst and I used the left blinker and went to go turn it off but it stays on. The car is constantly blinking left. The switch doesn't seem to be working. I'm thinking the switch is broken but is there anything else I should look for?

I just had that same problem happen to my 98 eclipse GST a couple weeks ago. If you take off the plastic covering on the steering column, you can easily remove the turn signal switch (which is your problem!!) It's a tiny little peg that broke off inside the TS itself, couldn't have cost more than a fraction of a cent in materials, but at Autozone you will be looking at $70-80 to replace it. The good news is that it's super easy to replace; just disconnect the 2 wire groups from the turn signal unit, unscrew the 2 or 4 screws that hold it to the column, slide the new unit in, tighten it up with a screwdriver, replace the column housing thing and you're good to go.

No, I've removed the plastic covering without taking off the steering wheel.

There's 2 screws on the plastic cover right by that lever you pull to move the steering wheel up and down. Then you just pop off the plastic and you can get to everything right there. It was about a 5 minute fix.
