alright well i have a 92 AWD TSI....automatic......i LOVE this car and basically stole it for what i paid for it but anyways i was planning on converting it to a manual sometime in the near future and was wondering if the T-case in an automatic is safe to use in a manual?

my reason is, i have a BRAND NEW $1,200 T-case (thanks to old 1 locking up on me at 60mph) and if possible i would like to still use it when my car is a manual.

i know some of you might just say "sell your car and buy another one thats manual" but i LOVE my car theres no body damage the leather interior is FLAWLESS! and has only 119k miles

and my option for doing the conversion was buying this other 92 awd tsi for $500 (has no motor but has everything else) and swaping the tranny and all that other good stuff into my car.

I cant give you an exact answer to the question but if this helps my buddy had to change the transfer case on his 4x4 truck when he swapped it from a straight drive to an auto i would imagine it would be the same concept

transfer case is fine but its your rear end is the problem. because of the gear ratio is different between manual and automatic.

even with the t-case there is a different between the the early 90 cars and your 92 and up car. reason is my early car has 22 teeth transfer case where your transfer case has 23 teeth

yea but that wouldn't matter if im still using the same T-case though...right?

but i don't really understand what u mean by "even with the t-case there is a different between the the early 90 cars and your 92 and up car" as the only thing i would be changing is the rear end and the tranny....
