Hi there! I'm interested in a 1.6 Lancer MIVEC, it's one of the few cars i like that i can get insured on.
I don't have a huge budget so can't afford to put alot of money into the car, and I've been warned that MIVEC engine's are although brilliant machines, that when they give trouble very few people know how to properly work on one in Ireland,
Just curious can anyone help whether this is a good decision..i have between 5,000-6,000 Euro to buy the car.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks Andy,

hads one myself for a few yrs back never gave me an ounce of trouble ,great car and you will love the mivec ,,regular oil changes are a must ,, there are two versions mivec and mivec md, the md version is better on fuel as it cuts two cyls at idle and cruise other then that power is identical, on the std mivec and md colt/lancer mivec cuts in at 5200rpm on the rs version it comes in at 6800rpm ,,if you try over on www.irishmoc.org there are plenty of mivec owners on there
