Ok, so I was thinkin' and since you can use a 4G63 ECU with a 4G64 (or so I hear, please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.), Would it be possible to use the ECU with the 4G37? In which case, I could use DSMLink on my 1.8T project.

I highly doubt it. That motor uses a distributor and the other two use ignition systems that are almost the same.

Ah true, good point. Didn't think of that. haha. At anyrate, DSMLink, pretty much is an overkill for a 1.8T project anywa. haha. I will just stick with the AFC. :P

Also, Turns out that Apexi did a recall on the AFC Neo because of the glich when using it with a karman (sp?) style MAF. Hopefully they get it straitened out before I start the turbo build. :P

good call hmatt I didn't think of that either. AFC neo was a bad idea from the get go. They should have just stuck with the AFCII, but they had to go rice for the honda boys

I plan to start out with 750cc, but I may go up depending on how things go. I really have no idea what to expect power wise from this since so far I have only found 2 poeple who have actually done it, both have a completely different setup. One of htem must have died or something since noone can get ahold of him, and the other refuses to naswer my questions.. (asshole.. >.>) lol

As for stock size, I can't rememebr off the top of my head, I have it written down at home, I will check when I get there around 6:30 EST.

Get me the numbers but I'm pretty sure your not going to be able to use a SAFC as your gonna be out of its correction range.

Well, I can't find where I had the injector size written down, but I am positve that you can use an SAFCII with the 1.8T project since everyone else who has done it uses an SAFCII. lol I have heard for 450cc injectors (which is what most people do.) you need to set it at -50%. Also, apparently Haltech makes a standalone for it (or so I hear) So I may look into that as well eventually.

660s are usually the biggest.

you can only do 50% correction. so if the injectors are 50% + larger then the stock ones you can't use the SAFC.

Problem with maxing it out is you can't correct anymore. MEANING you can't pull any more fuel out.

take your stock injector size divide that by the new injector size and then multiply that number by 100 and then subtract that number from 100. and thats what your baseline correction will be.

SO if you start with 210cc injectors and go to 360cc injectors

210/360=.5833

.5833 drop the .0033

.58 x 100 = 58

100-58=42

42= 42% larger injectors which means you should set your SAFC to -42% across the board on start up because you have to trick the ECU into thinking it seeing less air then it really is so that it doesn't fire those big injectors at the same rate as the smaller ones.

Problem is that when you PULL that much the ECU it utterly confused and will start to do funny things with timing.

It's a learning experience street tuning. Something I was not eager to test.

Hmm.. guess I have to use 450cc injectors then since that is -50% correction. :/

It would work I mean even though I had -42% correction I found I idled best at -35% and at WOT I was up to -16% in spots and still a little lean.

you could also drop fuel pressure to help the AFC compensate for larger injectors

As for the stand-alone...

Yeah, there is one, and AEM makes it too. It's thier "universal" one. So you basically can stick that sucker in any car, you just have to figure out how to wire it up.
