Hey, i have a 90 colt turbo 1.6L SOHC. Cold start, idles fine 750 rpm but it hesitates if i punch it higher than 2000rpm, if i floor it she stalls. Once car warms up hesitation persists yet improves slitghtly. Much more sluggish at low rpm. the hesitation got worse n worse over the past months, making the car hesitate more n more at an even lower rpm/how hard i punch the gas.
Changed head gasket, retimed engine, distributor cap n rotor, spark plugs n wires, air/fuel filters,
I was thinking timing but im reading 16 deg on my light, 29 & 0 deg if i move a tooth on the cam either way. All attempts the hesitation persited. 16 deg with mark on cam sproket lined up with the casing, and crank pulley mark lined up with the T on the BTDC scale...is that correct? fine adjusted timing by distributor didnt solve nothing either.
runs better at higher idle and also when hot.
