so there is no way to get stereo controls on the ipod with the lancer and stock radio? Then what is the benefit of using an aux cable instead of using the red and white cables? Because i already have an output for those.

hope this helps, pass it along. the part # from mitsubishi for the aux cable is MZ360136EX, this is the cable with the 3.5mm jack that you connect to the shuffle headphone jack. this connects to the back of the es factory radio. its has 3 wires that goes to the back of the radio and 2 more for positive and ground (red & black). you have to remove the radio unplug the harness that goes to the back of the radio and connect the 3 wires into the harness (slide wires into harness) then connect harness back to radio and that will pinch wires tightly. run the rest of the cable to the glove box so your ipod is out of site and so is the cable. put everything back in place, turn radio on and DON'T FORGET YOUR RADIO CODE, YOU'LL NEED IT TO UNLOCK THE RADIO, once all is done you can now play your ipod and control it from the radio or steering wheel controls. you can get the cable here:

they list it as mit-pod, this one is for the nano ipod connections
