I would really like to upgrade my factory RF speakers in the front & rear doors.

Looking through Crutchfield it shows you the RMS range of the speakers......

But I have NO clue as to what range I should stick with for our cars with the optional RF system....saying it has like 650watts...max...or whatever.......

Could I get away with something that would handle up to 50 RMS or should I go for something that is able to handle higher RMS like around 75-100?

One of the examples for you is 1 set I'm looking at: JL Audio TR600-CXi 2-50 watt rms. But it doesn't say what the maximum that they can handle.

I'm just looking for something to bring out the mids & highs better..........

the rear speakers in the RF system are marked 25watts and 4 ohms.. and I would guess the fronts are exactly the same. but not much more if any. so 50 watts is going to be getting max 20-25.. will sound fine. any higher power speakers and you will want to add a bigger better amp.

As for the JL Audio speakers, they will sound good as long as you build some good spacers and use dynamat to make them sound better.

this may be a bit off the topic, but seeing elvis spoke about ohms i thought i would mention this. I spoke to a rf agent the other day about upgrading my speakers and adding an amp, and he said if you retain any of the existing speakers, its also important to make sure that the ohms are the same across all of them.

No Lazy is dynomatting the whole driver side of my car about a year ago.. and still not getting to the passenger side.. even though I have more than enough to finish..

And like I said, do the JL's they sound good.. just go some place local that you can hear them.. everyone is different when it comes to speakers. if you like it and it's $20 or $1000 then get it. Your going to have to make a spacer no matter what speaker you go with, unless you do what a lot of people on here seem to be doing and cut the factory one out to mount.. works fine I guess(I haven't tried it on my car but have done it many times before.)
