My japanese Improted Mitsibishi pajero is drinking a heck of amount of diesel I'm currently only getting 18mpg, my old Shogan which had the same engine was a lot better at fuel consumption, the enging is a 3.2 diesel DiD Auto. On the pajero it has only a 4 speed box of which I never realized when I Purchaced it. Is this fuel consumption normal or is there anything I can do.

Thank you.

On Jap imports make sure you change the fuel and air filters as they do not look after them in Japan. You may need to get your injector pump checked as in some Jap imports they wind them up and you have a llot of raw fuel passing through the exhaust.
