Hi all, could someone please post a picture of how a MAS (Mass Airflow sensor) looks like on a 2000 RS eclipse (2.4 engine) and where to find it? I've read a couple of posts in here that suggest to clean this thing if your RPM's are not stable when the engine is IDLE, and that's exactly what's going on with my car, but what I couldn't find is a pic that leads me to it. Please help. Thanks

Ok this thread has pictures I posted to help someone with an intake problem. But if you look at the picture that is the last one on the right, the black square with the wires going into it is the MAF sensor. But if cleaning the MAF doesn't help it might be your idle air control motor/valve going bad on you. But that's just a possibility it could be something completely different.

Thanks for the pic. Now that I've found it, what can I use to clean it? Recommendations?

There is a section in the 3g online service manual that has directions for removal and cleaning. I tried to look for it but I don't have time to find it since I have to leave for work. So look in there cause I know it's there cause I've seen it before. And hopefully you find it and get your problem fixed.

Use carb cleaner on it to clean it, make sure it is completely dry, then put it back on. Either that or use MAF cleaner, which you can get at autozone.

If your RPM isn't stable at idle, your Idle speed control sensor is going bad. That is an expensive fix... sorry. :(
