Guys,

I have provided some pictures on how to replace your Air Cabin Filter. I bought my 2004 Galant as pre-owned. And what I've found out is that NO CABIN FILTER HAS BEEN installed since the first owner buy it. So i guess this is a COOL opportunity to show how to replace your first Cabin Filter. Just put your installation date sticker on the side of the glove box where you can easily see it.

Hope this posts will help anyone!

THank you and please drop here a comment.

Good job on the VFAQ! So, the replacement cover comes with the cabin filter? I am assuming that this was an OEM filter and not a Fram or Purolator or something. One more question, how diminished was the air flow coming out of the vents as opposed to not having a filter in there?

Thanks for the comment!

Yes the replacement cover comes with the cabin filter and it is an OEM from Mitsubishi Dealer ($35.00 bucks). That was the thing I was worried about and not sure either if my Galant had been replaced before with Cabin Filter. The OEM Cabin filter comes also with Instructions on how to replace them. It's worth DIY, dealer charged me $98.00 service fee if they will install it.

If anyone not sure if their galant cabin filter had been replaced before it's worth buying the OEM Cabin filter and DIY.

air flow coming out from the vents compared to having a filter and not having a filter was at the ignorable flow. Based on what i've observe it's not that big factor to affect the air flow having a filter or not. But of course it diminished a little but ignorable.

Hope this helps!
