After searching for a while in these forums I realized no one has actually come to a conclusion. My guess, because no one has enough experience yet. I realize the evo rims and tires wont fit at 245/4018. I know that 225/40-45r18 will fit cause it's not much wider. So what is the verdict on the 235/4018? Has anyone had any experience or tried them? Say an 8 inch rim on a 235/4018? I would love to fit some 235s but I don't want to make any modifications. Thanks for the help ahead of time.

Here in Australia on the standard VRX (GTS) 18" X 7" wide rims the widest tyre they are allowed to fit by law is a 225mm. (Standard is 215mm)

Anything wider requires wider rims and here we are legally restricted to the max width of the rim over and above the OEM size by 1"(25mm) if I remember the relevant legislation correctly from a few months ago.

im just gonna sretch my stock GTS wheels across 8.5 wheels..ive talked to experienced tire and wheel people and they said the stretch should be fine..and they see people go as wide as 9.5 on our size tires

the rim offset has more to do with a wider tire fitting than the width of the tire.. i have 235/40-18 18x8+35 and i slightly rub in the rear..
"right now im running 245/40r18 +45 and i rubbed in the rear."

id think 245 or 255 with prolly a +46 +48 offset would be the widest
