my car is running very rich. im not sure why im basically stock on stock boost and for some reason i am running very rich i got about 14 mpg on this tank. how can i make it run more lean

New plugs and wires at least. One of your o2 sensors could be going out as well, even if the check engine light hasn't come on yet.

Or, it could be as simple as..... you don't have to floor it everytime you take off, ya know! :bwekk:

sorry forgot about this post... but i put my code puller on it and it says the car is running open loop... shouldnt it run closed loop unless floored??? im not flooring it its idleing. and its the 2nd gen you see the mods magnaflow muffler and 8:1 pistons its brand new rebuilt all new parts.

^ yes it should be closed loop especially during idle. have you ever replaced the front o2 sensor?



attack do the 1g's run a little bit richer because their OEM timing is more aggressive?

no its not the timing or anything like that. its just from the ecu it only have like 4 fuel maps, as where the 2g has like 8 map

thats why most people hack up the mas to have a bit more air going to the engine to balance things out a bit

no i havent changed the front 02 sensor ive drove this car 1000 miles lol... the motor has maybe 200 miles. its a 2g ecu just a 6 bolt block etc...

that's the issue then. during break in the rings aren't quite sealed yet and the engine is working at its optimal levels. that will cause the drop in mileage. wait until 1500 miles on the motor and if the fuel mileage doesn't increase look for a problem
