You have great enthusiasm, but there are a few problems:

A- There are not any aftermarket internals for our car yet.

B- If you were going to buy internals from Mitsu, you would most likely be paying upwards of $5000, if not more.

C- Unless you have experience in rebuilding engines and/or own a machine shop, its not something I recommend doing yourself. You will most likely need to have a machine shop do it anyways.

D- A CF hood isn't going to lighten up the car very much at all. It will barely be noticeable if at all.

If you want a performance car, wait for the ralliart to come out, or trade into the evo. It will cost you just as much if you start messing with internals, and your guaranteed to void your powertrain warranty.

If its something you really want to do, you will just need to wait for some aftermarket companies to start producing for our engine. Good luck to you!

and i do have experience in engine work. i take them apart and rebuild them all the time
(never a mivec engine, just big blocks but it cant be much different)

If you have experience, then when they come out, I say go for it. An engines an engine; if you've rebuilt one, you can rebuild them all...with the exception of rotary!!

Turbo cars have low compression engines since the turbo compresses the air. So the evo pistons would be stronger but not make any more power, maybe less. The cams are also designed for the turbo application so the way they open and close the valves is also different althought i don't quite know what is different about them but they woudn't be best for improving performance in a naturally aspirated engine.

Also if you have experience then just take it apart and port and polish the heads and maybe shave the head a little or put a thinnner head gasket on. just port match everything.

So you bought a GTS over an MR just because the GTS is stick?

it never ceases to amaze me how idiotic people can be.
You buy an economy car and complain that its slow? keep in mind its NOT slow. Its just slower than a sports car.
you then say you would buy an MR if it had a stick? First, the dual clutch IS the trans of the future... get used to it. Its FAR better than you ever will be with a manual.
Second, they HAVE a manual Evo. But i would bet you didnt buy it because you cant afford it, which is why you bought a lancer in the first place.

Why on earth would anyone blow out a 10 year 100k warranty to screw around with their engine so they may make another 20
