BMI = Body Mass index.

Its used as a scale to determine if your weight it good bad or ok

However, it is only to be used as a general scale as it can NOT read muscle. Muscle weighs a lot and will add weight quickly, more so then fat.

I is prime example.

Weight in pounds x 703 divided by height in inches squared.

SO weight times 703 divided by your height in inches multiplied by itself . So if your 5'11" thats 71 inches so 71x71 = 5041

we use it to classify our patients: http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dnpa/healthywei...t_adult_BMI.htm

the chart in that link only goes to 30. ours goes to 100 and the highest i've seen so far is 72. so, imagine this. If you are 5'9" there is roughly a 38lb difference between categories. so...

Height Weight Range BMI Weight Status for a man 5’ 9”
124 lbs or less-- Below 18.5 Underweight
125 lbs to 168 lbs ----18.5 to 24.9 Normal
169 lbs to 202 lbs ----25.0 to 29.9 Overweight
203 lbs or more -----30 or higher Obese

from that information that person that I saw who was a 72 on the BMI scale was about 6'2" and weighed almost 700lbs

:lol: BMI doesn't mean anything if you are an athlete. There are some linebackers or receivers that could be classified as obese if you use BMI but still hvae a body fat percentage under 16%
