So I just ordered my Borla muffler and tip, and I'm stoked. I've always loved the unique tone of Borla exhausts. I'm having my local shop build me up the rest of the piping. Ill post pics and hopefully video and sound clips when I get it done.

FMP, the tip is DIS big... 3 5/8" x 2 1/2"
Its an oval rolled tip...heres a pic..

and webz, I'm hoping its just cause its a probe..haha

Ive actually heard this setup on a Mazdaspeed 3, and it sounded tight.
Borla has always been known for its deep tone. I'm going for deep and fairly quiet.

Looks a lot like the Works pipe. The etching is super similar too.

Hope it doesn't sound the same because that tip looks awesome. Good size too, about the same as the GTS exhaust finisher.

Pics and vids if and when they are available!

The problem with most 4 bangers is that most/all aftermarket exhausts sound the same, which makes it really hard to find a classy sounding exhaust for our cars.

I want a sound that mimics the CAI as much as possible... or an exhaust that improves flow, but it SUPER quiet!

The reason Borlas are quiet is cause they are a straight through design. So if you want to improve flow and still be quiet Borla is a great choice. They are perfect for turbo cars cause you don't need back pressure. The turbo is the back pressure. However since you have a cat and whatever else on our cars you don't need any more back pressure. Flowmasters are known for their unique sound and being loud cause they have baffles inside that basically restrict the flow and make noise. also Borlas are stainless steel instead of aluminum or some other light thin metal. So they give a deep tone instead of a raspy mettallic sound like aluminum would give

I received my parts today. The muffler looks well constructed (clean welds and such). The tip looks good as well. Its about the same size as the GTS finisher, but is better constructed. I am going to have the tip welded on, so no ugly pipe in the middle of the tip. Hopefully I will have everything installed on Sat. If not it will be next week. :gitara:

What do you mean? You want an exhaust that sounds like an intake??
