Well then, just get the Monroe's or other "stock" part... they are nice and cheap, and the stock system is already coilover... which is just stating that the "coil" spring is "over" the damper/shock. That system, I am assuming, would replace your stock spring mounts, and allow you adjustability, but you will only be able to lower the car, because your shocks would crap out early because they would have to work extra hard.
That's why those namebrand systems are expensive. They are the whole sh-bang! The springs and shocks, when matched with the manufacturer's recommended rates, would allow you to keep a near-stock feel, while obtaining that agressive look.
In essence, you get what you pay for. And it couldn't possibly be more true in anything as it is with cars. Just remember, the cheap-o parts you use that will break soon, usually do so at speed. So, if you plan on spending 9 bucks up front, and another god knows how much when your car wrecks on the freeway, then by all means, spend as little as possible.
Not trying to come off as harsh, just cheap and effective is something that is a hard grounds to meet in the car world...
