When I am taking off at about 3000rpms it tugs then slows tugs then slows very softly.
by the time i am at 6000-6,500rpms the tugging and missing is violent. Seems like its missing. replaced spark plugs and wires. Didn't do much.

Our factory gauges are inaccurate as hell. That is just the way they are. As far as normal gas mileage. That will be COMPLETELY different from car to car. There is absolutely no way for us to tell you what a "normal" mileage would be.

Back to the detonating. that could be a serious issue if you haven't upgraded your fuel system and you're running an evo 3 16g. (How many times...)

Don't know about your setup but this site says 21 city and 28 highway mpg. http://www.fueleconomy.gov/Feg/noframes/9810.shtml
my car is the base model with no preformance mods and i figured it at about 22mpg around town.
