Ummm...... I feel ya but, unless you have a press..... I wouldn't try doing it yourself. The wheel bearings are pressed on. Honestly, $210 is not really that bad for a single wheel bearing. I think I paid about $170 with tax, per side (I know the owner, and he gave me a LITTLE break, he really didn't even make any money off me). Seriously, check around a bit for a price on it. Besides, if something gets screwed up, guess who pays for it? Not you, the shop does. Case and point: I had a simple install to do. Install an alignment kit on my rears (to make them adjustable for alignment after lowering with Eibach springs). No big deal. I would have been wrong. I took it to my local trusted mechanic (they are the only people I trust to work on my car, if I am not doing it myself), to have the kit installed, and then aligned. Good thing I did. A bolt on the ball joint was so rusted, that when he went to take it off, it SNAPPED. They had to drill it out, and tap it, so that it was usable. I would have NOT been able to do that, with out spending extra cash, that I did not have, and my car would have been down for a week. They fixed it all, and did the alignment for the original price I was quoted. I'm not saying that something like that could happen to you, but, it is something to consider when doing something that requires equipment, or parts, that you may not have, and have to special order. And bud, please keep in mind, I am not trying to flame you, NOT EVEN CLOSE, I am just trying to help you keep in mind, that some things are better done by a shop, or somebody with the proper equipment. BTW, that guy at Autozone, if you don't like him, you could get him fired if you called Autozone Corporate. They have a STRICK "no competition" policy for employees. hehe Let us know what happens. ;)
