its part of your air conditioning. DO NOT disconnect any part of your A/C system until you have is discharged. it will blow out into your face if you don't discharge it first

that is part of the a/c? i looked in my 1st gen and the part that goes right there is part of the power steering. where is the low pressure valve for the a/c then? the high pressure valve is on the compressor itself, so the low pressure one should be on that highlighted area. damn 2nd gens.

Yeah the condenser was the first part that I started to disconnect the line. And apparently its not a real DIY job for an average Joe just disconnecting parts, a lot of green house gases involved and what not.

I want to find out if there is a evacuator of some sort that I could buy and use in my home, I just can not justify towing a car to dealership or automotive shop having the a/c discharged then towing it right back home. Unless the evacuator cost a lot.

Any suggestions?

there isn't a home use thing that I can think of off hand. you don't technically have to remove the A/C to get the engine out
