it's been a while since i've been on here, sorry for the time off lol....any ways i got a new 6puck xtd clutch put in my 1g eclipse n/t and i was wondering if anyone has ever had that clutch installed and what they thought of it?

pros/cons preferably......i have yet to drive it because its taking longer than anticipated to put the tranny back together cause the fork that holds the throw out bearing has been worn down due to the fact its 15yrs old. also whats a good break-in for a performnace clutch?

Break in period is usually 500-1000 miles. Why on earth did you get a 6 puck clutch on a n/t??????

pros/cons

Pros: That clutch will grab so fast it will suprise the hell out of you. It will not slip (debatably a pro)

Cons: Your left leg will be in pain after driving. You will get really tired of driving it. Its an on/off switch, not a clutch. You will hate it in traffic.

You prolly shoulda gotten a street disc. At the MOST a stage 2 exedy ceremetallic puck-like clutch.

xtd made the clutch i got for a fwd n/t

i heard all that happens is theres no play in the clutch its either engage or disengage.

Its an On/Off switch. Its hard to get used to and it will be rev and dump when you drive it.

No street car should have a puck clutch. Horrible driveability, and they seriously Fu.ck up your flywheel, so look forward to having to replace that WHEN you decide you hate it and want to go back to a street disc.

well turned out the clutch disc was warped when they put it on so they had to spend about twice as long to replace it, but my car's good for now....my friends buying it next week, well early next week after i get back from philly.

how should i drive this car during break in? speed limit, below speed limit?

just to be clear, "normal" driving doesn't include launches and short shifting

haha thanks guys....i commute to school and i live about 25 miles away from school so its a 50 mile round trip daily....i went to class this morning and first time driving it it was a little rough, now its okay. i barely touched the gas pedal andit was fine. im afraid if i drive "normal" this clutch might slip? since its new?

i never had a new clutch so my fault for the "noob" questions

but i like the pressure in the clutch pedal, its pretty heavy :)
