Recently Replaced Oil Pan - though that might be the problem

She's leaking on the firewall side I think. I can't pin point it though.

I put a new oil pan on about a month ago because it was leaking and the pan was soft like someone jacked up the car there. It still leaked though. It leaks all over the cross-member that goes from front to back, and then drips from there, so it's hard to tell exactly where it's coming from.

I climbed under there tonight, and poked around. I noticed two electric connectors on the back of the engine - I figure these must be crank position sensors? Those have oil on the, but above there seem pretty dry. I took a picture...

Could those be leaking? Any other ideas where my leak could be coming from?

I can see the edge of a new valve cover gasked from the front. It's nice and clean - could be leaking in the back... I think it's lower though, because it will leak even if I just filll it up and let it sit - engine doens't have to be running.

Thanks!

the green plugged sensor is the oil pressure sending unit and the other sensor is your knock sensor.

it is possible that the new valve cover gasket is leaking, but highly unlikely if it still leaks when the engine isn't running. the only thing I could think of that would cause that type of leak is the oil pan gasket, cracked oil pan, or bad drain plug gasket.

It's a brand new oil pan and oil pan gasket - I put these on myself, because I suspect that too. It all leaks just as "good" still through.

maybe I'm leaking around the oil pressure sensor - I'll check her out.

the worst case scenerio is you are leaking from the head gasket. that is a common spot

Yea - I thought I had a head gasket leak because of some other symptoms, but then I talked myself out of that... could be I guess.... I've only had it a few months.... somone might have done the head and didn't know what they were doing... There was definetly some "stuff" done.
