i have an 03 rally and my service engine light kept coming on. i did a diagnostic and the code was 420-421. i did a little reserch and found this out. ALL O3 RALLY (and a few others) HAD A RECALL. SO IF YOUR SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CODES WERE THOSE. THEN ITS SIMPLE. TAKE IT TO THE MITSUBISHI DEALERSHIP AND THEY WILL REPLACE THE COMPUTER SOFTWEAR AND THE CATYLITIC CONVERTER FOR FREE!!!....that simple.. dont believe me then jus call and ask the dealer urself..

Holy caps girly.... are you lost? Or does this apply to 08s and 09s too?

Well if its under warranty, it has to be fixed.

this thread would do better in that '03 generation lancer section.

The recall on the '03 Lancer does not apply to the new generation Lancers.

If you really want to know why the SES light is on, stop by ANY car parts shop (NAPA, Schucks, Car Quest, Autozone etc) and have them read the code with their OBDII Scanner.

ITS FREE! and alot faster than taking it into the dealaerhip.

They will give you the code and what the code means and you can diagnose from there.
