I'm about to replace my stock exhaust system on my 92 vr4 and I am currently looking at the tanabe exhaust concept g blue. Does anyone know anything about this?

I recently read a review which said:

"The only drawback in this system is it comes with a “test pipe” which is a straight pipe that goes where the factory catalytic converter goes. You have a few options with this setup. You can run the test pipe for maximum performance; however it is not street legal. You can also stick the factory catalytic converter in place, but it is a bit of a bottle neck in the exhaust. Or the best route in my opinion is to order a high-flow catalytic converter to be matched with this exhaust. Now only will you get the best street legal performance this way, it tends to quiet the exhaust a little bit at cruising speeds".

So im not too sure what I should do and if i have to get a high flow catalytic converter I have no idea which one will work with this exhaust system. Any ideas?

have you already purchased the tanabe? if not, i would hold off, and instead go down to the muffler shop and have them just make you a custom mandrel-bent exhaust. You can buy a high-flow cat with the money you save.

to answer your other question, any high flow cat that is a direct replacement for the stock cat will work. Tanabe said the exhasut would bolt up to the stock cat, correct? than it will bolt up to a stock cat replacement (test pipe, high-flow cat)
