So I had a post earlier about struts. I found some kyb agx strust for about $100 each. I was told I should replace the springs too, but I went to O'reillys today and with my sears discount (no mark-up) they are $103 each. I dont want to lower it because I live in montana and theres snow and all that. (Also curbs) Where could I get some stock springs or ones that are as good or better than stock but not lower my car. With all of that bought and installed it would be over $1000..I can get a whole aftermarket kit for less almost.

I found this. but I dont know, 1.2 is alot considering the current hight.

I also found some skunk racing springs that said they allow up to a 3" drop. Could I set them to no drop??

It varies from brand to brand. I believe that the fully adjustable coilovers allow you to set it for no height reduction at all. But those KYB AGX struts are adjustable too up to 4". And they are cheaper with those and springs than it is for a full coilover set. And they should allow you to set it at no drop at all as well.

But don't quote me on that.

So your saying if I got the KYB AGX struts I could get some lowering springs and not have to lower it..Just adjust the struts higher??

What can you all adjust on the AGX's? I just thought it was the stiffness.

No you can adjust the ride height on the KYB AGX's. And I mean that you can find stock springs and go with KYB AGX struts and you might be able to not lower it at all.

Why?

I found these. Anyone ever heard of or tried them? Could I adjust them to stock hight? 36-way adjustable I dont know. Kinda high price but when you add it to the cart its like $884.

Also these springs could they be adjusted to now drop?

No.

KYB AGX's have 4 settings (1-4) that allow you to ONLY adjust the damper on ths strut.

Just buy Intrax Springs (they lower 2") and marry up very well with KYB AGX's and you will be fine on the roads. If lowering a car 2" affects you to the point you can't drive anymore in inclimate weather, then you need to buy a truck.

Your roads in Montana are cleared the same way they are anywhere else in the country and there are PLENTY of vehicles lower than the Eclipse that fair just fine - right?

Best of luck.

On the AGX you can adjust the strut. Know somebody that has them.

Well my car only sits about 5in of the ground..2in is a big drop. I just know if I lower it then im going to eventually hit a curb when parking or something. Sometimes when i pull up to those parking blocks my bumper is hanging over an inch or two and only like a half inch above it. Thats not gonna be good on my bumper if its two inches lower...

About the roads thing. I dont think ill have a problem driving on most roads. But my drive way is about 150 to 200 yards long which isnt cleared unless I was to try and clear it or something. Then if we get 4" of snow I just dont wanna get stuck.

I know alot of people with their hondas and even another kid with an eclipse (lowered) and they got rid of them because they couldnt drive well in the winter.

But I dont know Ill think about it.

The only other option if you're really not wanting to lower it is to just get stock struts and springs from a place like http://www.car-part.com or some place that is like that. It's the cheapest and your best bet.

Plus, these cars aren't good in the snow no matter what you do to them. So just another thing to think about.

Stock is Weak. Buy some Teins should be around 200 shipped. Make sure they are real though. some people sell fakes that look 100 percent the same but work like 15 percent.Ebay it bro.

Dude a TEIN setup is gonna cost you alot more than $200. Maybe for just springs you might be looking at only $200 but even that is pushing it. But either way you gotta get struts to go with the springs. And for that you are definitely looking at way over $200.
