I also have a DE and i did this

First off get rid of those hubcaps. 18's look sweet.

then, possibly spoiler. If you want performance bolt-ons you can get exhaust, pulley, intake, headers.

For looks, im personally on the look out for a lip-kit. I don't want a full body kit.
also HID are nice

Your best bet to make it sound cooler would be an exhaust, its also gonna help a little with power... no much but some.
+1 on the rims and also tinting makes a world of difference when it comes to looks. Depending on the color of your car you could black out the front like everyone does here.
There aren't really any internals out for the car yet so you would have to wait on those, but pulley and CAI are out so go with those as well.
Good luck and don't forget to post pics!

an intake makes it sound "cooler" than an exhaust. an exhaust is just flatulence ;)

do the black vinyl thing on the front bumper and color-code the side mirrors - i know it doesn't make the car any faster or any more fuel efficient but i think it looks pretty cool!!

The DE doesn't come in a CVT. Only the GTS does.

Body kit, lights, and an exhaust will get you the upgrades you are looking for (aka rice). All 2008 Lancer parts will fit your DE.

euh......CVT stands for Continuously variable transmission.....it's just another auto transmission using variable diameter pulleys.....so basically it's just a gearless "feel like auto" box called CVT automatic with INVEC-III for Mitsu.....and it is available for all models/trim.....

now what i think you are talking about it's the pedal shift option, which, yes, it's exclusive to GTS.....it tries so hard to simulate conventional automatic that it is an epic fail in my personal opinion.....it is no coincident that the EVOs are equipped with a twin clutch automatic that actually has/changes gears (6 of them!!!)

no CVT for me unless all automakers switch to CVT.....i will still get a lancer, but stick shift.....

+2, I'm in Canada and CVT comes on all models, paddleshifters (telepathic Shift) only on GTS
