Welcome. Lets try for some more info. What trim is it? RS, GS, GS-T, GSX? I take it this is an automatic? What makes you think you put it into "limp mode"? That usually denotes an issue with the transmission. Start by doing the usuall preventive maintinence things, oil change, plugs, plug wires, air filter, throttle body cleaning (IMO the best way to clean it, is to remove it, and use sensor safe carb clean, you will need a new throttle body gasket), check all vacumm lines, etc. Next, I might go to a muffler shop, and have them check the exhaust system. I would also get a fuel pressure guage, and check the fuel pressure (or have a shop do it). Our cars need to have the timing belt changed every 60,000 miles, unless the previous owner changed it, or has documentation showing that is was changed, I would have the timing belt, both pulleys, the tensioner, and water pump changed. Try some of that stuff, and see if that helps.

Drives: 1996 Talon AWD. Built, but no longer drives: 1997 mitsubishi eclipse RS; 1990 Talon AWD; 1995 Talon AWD, 1997 Talon AWD. Seems like a pattern

congratulations, but now you own a mitsu so if you want a car to spank on and beat up, get another honda. and the person who told you it had a "swap" is retarded. people don't swap engines around in n/t eclipses, just the turbo models. Just for a heads up, the people on this forum get touchy when people do stupid things off the track............like 8k burnouts. We prefer to treat things with respect and put safety first
