While idling i started to here an unusual rattling nois from the engine. While driving it feels like there is a loss of power. The car i parked for now while i get info on it.

Looking at the engine:-
belts look good, main belt replaced around 6 months ago

bottom pulley looks like its wobbling and moving in and out.
At a guess i would think its something to do with bearing on that shaft, i need help on which shaft this is, what may be wrong and how to go about fixing it.

Please help, many thank in advance

Gaz

I doubt its the bearing. Check the bolt that holds the pulley. Its should be ~150 ft-lbs of torque. It will take a huge breaker bar or 1/2" torque wrench. If you are unsure, have the dealer look at it. Dont drive it with a loose pulley. If you had your timing belt replaced, it makes sense that your pulley might be loose. It has to be removed to take the timing belt off. Sounds like the mechanic did not tighten it enough. Take it back to them.

The after market pulley bolts have been coming up to long and bottom out in the bolt hole, They need to be cut down by about 3mm and then retightened.

The bolt wasnt tight enough.
Other damage has been caused as a result to the pulley and shaft. At the moment its on nice and tight to the torque set and doesnt wobble or move as before. Will keep a close eye on it until i can source parts to do full fix.

Thanks for the info guys
