I was on E, but no Low gas light came on or check engine... it wont go into acc for the radio which makes me think its something more... because you dont need the engine running for ACC... the negative cable is loose but I still have lights and sounds for the car, plus I was driving it when it died, so the alternator would have kept it alive..

is this because I was low on gas or something more?

Its more then likely because your negative battery cable is loose.

He is right, tighten your negative terminal and you will be good to go. ;)

nothing, I have lights, I have all that, but anything to do with the engine or anything wont get electricity

the only other thing with that terminal would be completely replacing it, its got connection to it, its just loose, and wont really be tightened, but if it had a bad connection why is it everything else works flawlessly?

Because, it is getting enough connectivity to work some of the elecctrical components but isnt getting enough power to work all of them.

well we attempted to tighten it but it doesnt want to, so I would have to get another connector?

if you are right, would a jump start work? just to get it home?

A jump start might work. depends on how much voltage it is really putting out. lol as for the terminal. You can get them at any parts store for like $3 lol

Unless you had a major fuse blow I am sticking to my theory of needing to tighten the terminal. A jump start might work but if you hit a bump wrong it could knock it to a point where its not getting a connection and die again.

Drives: 1996 Talon AWD. Built, but no longer drives: 1997 mitsubishi eclipse RS; 1990 Talon AWD; 1995 Talon AWD, 1997 Talon AWD. Seems like a pattern

not if the alternator is going bad or the ECU isn't enough power from the batt.

take a piece of stick gum and fold the wrapper over a few times. wedge it in between the battery terminal and the terminal end. it will make a good enough connection to get you home

Ignition SW fuse I mean

and now WTF< the one I put in there is now blown too..

why is it destroying fuses? am I doing somehting wrong?

or is some higher power trying to keep me in the house lol

luckily this time it did it as I was about to turn the car off as I was at home... compared to being on the highway

oh and also, where the hell can I find these big fuses and how much? or are there some spares hiding somewhere...

If it keeps blowing fuses then you have one of a couple of problems. either you have weak fuses (the car being 14 years old) or you have an electrical problem somewhere that involves your ignition switch. You can buy those fuses at any auto parts store.

I will probably get jumped for his, but, try gettng a more heavy duty fuse. Increase the amps of the fuse by 5 and give that a shot.
