well, i took it off and ran it to the cruise control to see if vacuum was the reason why my cruise wasnt working. And that is what the problem was. But I have driven like that for a few days now and have had no CEL. Do you think my EGR valve is stuck? Would that effect mileage?

Also that means i have a vacuum leak somewhere along the cruise control system. I dont think it's the line that out of the "cruise control vacuum reservoir" I'm thinking that maybe the reservoir itself has a leak in it, or the vacuum line going into it. But since it's located under the intake manifold it is nearly impossible to get to. UGGG...

Rather than searching for the existing leak utilize one of the extra fittings on the back of your intake manifold to route a new vaccum line to your cruise controll. More of a band aid than a fix, but it should get everything working right agian.

i didnt realize there were extra fittings. I was gonna start taking things apart to morrow to try and fix the vacuum leak affecting the cruise control. But i'm more concerned with the EGR Valve at this point. The fact that the Check Engine Light didnt come when i removed the vacuum lines really bothers me.

Just buy a EGR Block-off kit. If they make it for the 420a I mean.

15$ usually for the kit. Helps clean up the engine bay too. Don't worry if the light dosen't come on. Your car dosen't NEED an EGR, accept to maybe pass inspection. And yes there are, I think, two (at least one) fitting(s) on the back of your intake manifold (the one that splits into three) that arent used.

i think the only reason why a car wouldnt use all three is if you do not have cruise control. But anyway, I fixed my cruise controll issue, sorta. One of the lines that comes from that fitting goes to the "cruise control vacuum reservoir." i figured out that vacuum wont pass through the reservoir. So i took the vacuum in line to the reservoir and put it directly into the cruise control servo. Although i still have a CEL that i'm guessing is related to the EGR valve. Because i took the vacuum off of it and I also took the electrical connector off for a while, and now the light wont go away. Do i have to get a code reader and delete the code from the ECU?
