Timing is dead on just replaced wires/ plugs..havent and dont know what all other tests to perform on this vehicle i usually drive a toyota mr2 but this car is new to me...any suggestions.? Also the fuel pump seems to be priming just fine. Im going to take off the fuel filter so i can blow through it to see if its clogged or not.

Like pwee said, o those basic PM things: Fuel filter, plugs and wires, fuel pump relay, clean the throtle body (I prefer to pull it off for cleaning. If you do this, you will need a new gasket), air filter, and check all vacumm lines. Our cars also need to have the timing belt changed ever 60,000 miles, even if it looks ok. Also check those pulleys and the water pump for bearing play, and the tensioner.

Thanks alot guys,
I already checked wires and replaced them. the timing belt, water pump, and thermo are brand new changed about 3k miles ago.
Ive never cleaned a throttle body, its were the air filter box goes into the intake right? and also i was looking on autozone.com and couldnt find a replacement fuel pump relay so do you know where to go to get one to test it out?
Also i think you should know that i replaced the car stereo system the other day when i changed the oil and one of the cables on the battery after installing them back on seemed a bit loose but the lights / everything seems to work fine.

Make sure that the cables are on there tight and aren't moving around.

Thanks so much for the help guys i didnt know these cars are so precise with its systems. unlike the toyota mr2 this problem never happens.
I will check the fuel filter and battery cables then if that doesnt help i will proceed with the TB cleaning will carb cleaner work just as well as pb?
thanks again. I will let you know what happens.

The fuel pump relay is a piece of cake. Just head down to your local Dodge dealer, and get one for aEagle Talon. The run about $20. Cleaning the throttle body is easy too, it's the assembly between the air intake pipe, and the intake manifold. There are two long bolts holding it on. You will need to disconnect disconnect the TPS and IAC plugs, and of course the air intake pipe, and a vacumm hose. Clean it useing sensor safe carb clean. Any time you remove the throttle body, you are required to use a new gasket when putting it back on (about $1.80 at autozone). The fuel filter is a pain in the ass to do, but well worth it. If you can, have the fuel pressure checked as well. Any auto shop can do this, or you can get a guage and do it yourself (about $40). Lastly, best investment you can make for your car, is to get a Chiltons or Haynes reapir manual (I recommend Chiltons personally).

ok i just drove it the first time , (this is my wife's car) I put it in park and let it idle it acted as if it were missing or idleing erratically but when i tapped the throttle from under the hood a bit it was fine...the car is just really jumpy eventually causing it to die, and cranks for about 12 seconds before firing.
probably will still check the same things...im guessing fuel filter and i just noticed were it was omg how do u get to it lol

LOL! I think I did say it was a bit of a pain in the ass. hehe This is the way that I did it. First, depressurize the fuel system. I followed the instructions in Chiltons. Disconnect the battery. Pull up the rear seats, by pulling down on the little black plastic tabs. There is a metal plate to the left, unscrew it, and you will see the fuel pump. Disconnect the fuel pump plug. Reatach the battery, and start the car. Let it run till it dies. This depressurizes the fuel system. Disconnect the battery again, and pull the battery out of the car, and remove the battery tray. You mentioned that you put the car in "park" and let it idle, so I am assuming it is an automatic. If it is disregard this next part. Unscrew the clutch reservoir mounting bolts (DO NOT disconnect the reservoir! You just want to be able to move it out of the way) so you can remove the windshield wiper bottle (I don't know what the automatic is like, but I am pretty sure you have to remove the windshield washer bottle as well). Once all that is done, you will have plenty of room to get to the fuel filter. But seriously my friend, get that Chiltons repair manual. It is a life saver.

One more thing you might want to try is disconnecting your battery and oxygen censor then plugging back in the censor and attaching the cables again. I had the same problem not to long ago after I installed my K&N. Did that and it fixed it.
