brought the 95 up for the weekend today. had some problems on the highway.

First off, my father jacked my wires and threw his older ones on mine which i am hoping is the cause of my prob.

The car sputtered a lot over 3k rpms, just quick shots of no power if you will. Then it started getting worse, sputtering long enough for the rpms to drop to zero. If i popped the clutch and gassed it a little it would be fine, but sometimes when i couldn't catch it, it would legit die. As im on the express lane on the highway and i physically could not pull over (unless i wanted to run into a concret wall <_< ). clutch started it in 5th and everytime i had to do this i got a really loud backfire and a pop.

Please tell me this is just the wires...

i should mention that all this seemed really sporatic. if it wasn't sputtering it drove perfect. Full boost and seemed perfect. took it out on the backroads to see if i could further diagnose it. Didn't even sputter... Really random timing

Misfire. I am going with the wires. Odds are that is why your dad jacked yours.

+1

random vibrations knock em loose or they are just worn too much and don't quite catch the electricity right.

That sounds a lot like my problem I posted in the 420a section except I'm going by the CEL code instead of explaining the problem. It doesn't help when I ask about the wrong code though.

Just changed out the vaccum lines and IC pipes. Plus it doesn't act like a boost leak at all.

What im more so worried about is when i clutch start it, the car backfires like a mofo...

it's in BFE. make sure all your timing marks line up and check the tension on your belt
