Ever since I recharged my AC, on real hot days once in a while its just starts blowing hot air even with the compressor running, I'm pretty sure when I recharged it that some of the rubber gasket material from my old R134A recharge kit which was disentergrating is plugging the Expansion Valve, can anyone tell me where it is, I can't seem to find it on my 96 LS montero? :liebe011:

The expansion valve is inside the cooling coil box normally underaneath the glove compartment. its a square box that is attched to the blower motor housing. you have to remove both of them for cleaning and replacement of the expansion valve.

96lssocal have you solved the problem? i had a similar problem with my pajero, the fault was traced to a bad engine temp. sensor. Let me know if you like more information.
