Hi All,

I've been reading a lot of posts about different performance parts currently on the market and I've come across a lot of mixed reviews. I've just started getting into modifying my car and I'm a little skeptical about bolt-on parts giving you "+10 hp" or "shave a whole second off your 1/4 mile" etc, etc.

So far, I have the RRM V2 intake and the RRM AB exhaust, and I have to say I'm satisfied with the way my car is now. I didn't expect much out of the parts so I guess that's why I'm so content.

Anyway, my main question is, is it possible to achieve 180ish whp with just bolt-on parts? What do you guys think? If it's nowhere near possible, then I'll keep my car as is and probably put the money/time to better use. Thanks for your input.

if you have the 09 you may be able to top to get in the 170 at the wheels..at the crank you can prob get 190

before in 08 it was manys goal to get 200 at the crank this all including a tune which you will need if you want to get there..

I think he might be able to, especially because he's got the 2.4L... but he would DEFINITELY need an ECU tune to even get close to 180HP crank.

I would love to get my car tuned, but the only prob is that I live in Toronto and Cali is just a tad bit far to drive to...

I know the piggyback prob won't make any diff... but what about a header? And would the pulley be able to reduce power loss at the wheels by like 1% - 2%?

On my 09, I plan on getting: light weight flywheel, CAI, headers, exhaust, and ECU.
Starting at 168 stock, I was thinking that would put me into the 190's at the crank. What do you think?

We will have to ship our ECU only to them using same/next day courier service and they will send it back to us by express mail. Looking around 2-3 days with no car to drive. I am interested in getting this done, maybe we can get it done together and work a price with them?

My initial plan was to get the Injen CAI first and then get the WORKS re-flash. Considering winter is here, don't wanna take the risk of hydro locking the engine, so I postponed the Injen CAI for spring 09.

My question to all, I want to get the WORKS reflash done now without the CAI. But when I order it, i am gonna tell them i already have the CAI. Will there be any impact on performance during the period when I run their ECU tune without the CAI? Temp. here will be soon below 10C so i guess it plays the role the CAI would do i.e feed cold air. Wouldn't it?

the ECU flash should really be the last mod to do. If the CAI is all you are going to get just save up and wait til you install it first. If you plan on getting exhaust, header, pulley, etc wait until you get them first. Then ECU flash.

^ agreed

the flash should be the last thing you do after you have done all your going to do to the car...(if not going turbo) to get the most out of the flash...

but if works wasnt so worried about someone hacking the software they could just let it be reprogrammable that way we could take it to a local tuner and have it tuned

I'm not really comfortable will sending off my ECU... it's kinda risky. Here's hoping SOMEONE in Toronto will do a flash... but I doubt it.
