no, these dont have a chip in them. 90 is pretty low for a top speed, then again so is 109. my old 92 galant with 102hp at least managed 118mph top speed, so a 2.0L eclipse should be faster than that. i dunno, sounds like something else is up with that car. is it in good condition? any other issues with it? pics?

Does it have a manual or automatic trans? If manual the clutch could be slipping a little, Just a thought...

its a hard shift its automatic it had thick oil from prevous owner but i changed that quick my friend ( whos a little nutty) said i need to tweek the air and fuel mixture cuz its slow on reving idk? but it has 157k on the body and 38k on the motor so its pretty new. all in all its a good car but i think its sluggish. wat i mean on shifts hard the first and second gear r long winded and when they do shit it lunges forward. if u got any ideas on how to fix it im all ears

Just a thought. I have personally test driven a 1991 Eclipse GS Auto, and it was slow as balls. It was at a dealership, that claimed that it was in perfect running order, but weather that was true or not is unknown to me.

congrats on the 1g eclipse. :00000732:

i have a 1g eclipse 2.0 non turbo with some shit done to it. basic bolt-ons, rims, OEM interior/exterior upgraded light bulbs (almost h.i.d.) blah blah blah

things to notice:

oem clutch is GARBAGE
engine mounts can go on you so get prothane motor mounts.
(depending on how hard you drive your car)
These engine blocks will handle power if you ever decide to make your nonturbo into a turbo gs-t motor which is not that bad to do. just have a mix of oem/aftermarket parts for i think arouns 1200 and you can have a bolt on kit (turbo)

um what else did i manage to break on my eclipse that you should know about? hm....axles wore on me and will make clicking sounds when they decide to go on you. (if making a right or left hand turn they will go click click click)

gets okay gas mileage.....

thats about it.

and oh yeah you got a dsm so congrats!

no, there are no "chips" you can install in these cars.
