Okay, I'm new to the site, and I don't really know anything about timing belts and anything along those lines... However my step-dad does, and it's his car. All I need to know is what number should the timing marker be aligned with? It says T-10-20; what should the notch line up with?

It's a 1993 non-turbo import. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Matt

Thanks for the help, but where the timing marker is on the oil pump case; this is covered and I can't see the marker without taking it apart some more. I was wondering if there's anyway to mark it up with the numbers that are right next to the sproket? Sorry if you don't understand, but it has markings saying "20" "10" and "T". Is it possible to line the sproket up to one of those? If so, which one? Thanks, Matt

matt, just keep in mind this is an interference engine, meaning that the valves can hit the pistons, so dont just go turning cams any which way, or you'll end up with bent valves lol.

Bring the engine to Top Dead Center (TDC) This is when the marks on the BACK of the cam gears line up with the marks on the valve cover When those are lined up the crank sprocket will be lined up too. Take the timing covers off and take the harmonic dampener off which will give you access to the crank sprocket. Check the time mark on the sprocket.

Mark the belt. Secure the cam gears.

Take the belt off. Replace timing pulleys and push the ram rod back in the tensioner.

Put it all back together.

Theres the jist.
