Keep things short the motor in my eclipse is now blown, seized right up while driving...fun stuff, at least now i have a real reason to fully rebuild my motor however extreme i want to be =P. Going to find a 6 bolt to swap the 7 with any other recommendations on performance parts to get? Looking at wiseco pistons, eagle rods, bc 272/272 cams. Debating on if i should have it bored out also...I want to put the best of everything into this motor and i'm not going to be cheap about it because i know in the long run being cheap will not be the best route.

use manley h-beam rods instead of eagle. they are slightly cheaper and have a better wrist pin bushing. what turbo do you plan on using?

If you plan on driving this around town you may wanna think of the street set up 264/272s instead of 272/272

would something higher than 272/272 be better for drag? whet would i really be benefitting from going with bigger cams? Also how much better would a 20g be than a 16g? I also need to find a good LSD.

IMO it would be better to stay with the stock cams and just boost the crap out of it because you're FWD and only want around 400hp. it will be a fun car without wasting money on cams

272s are big. Ppl overkill their cars with these all the time. 264's are all you need for street applications.

20g is going to have significantly more lag, but when it spools (if you can maintain traction) its going to feel like you got rear ended it'll kick that hard. (20g is good for 450-500 hp, 16g is 350 hp).

Shep has some pretty good LSDs

P.S. You have never seen torque steer like a 20g on a fwd car ;)

ok ill buy a LSD from shep when i send my trans in to them. 20g sounds good, I gotta find a good(not cheap) turbo header also. So you guys really think the 264's will be enough for around 450Hp? or should i go 264/272? Will traction be that bad with slicks?

your stock cams are good enough for 450hp. traction is great with slicks, thats why there is so much torque steer

k i will keep the stock cams for now. I'm assuming i will be needing to strengthen up the drive shafts/cv shafts or w/e they are technically called on these things.

It's gonna be really hard for you to keep traction on that thing with the 20g in there. You're gonna hate driving that thing on the streets. You might wanna reconsider and try a 18g instead.

hmm...would a 18g be much more noticible than my 16g? i was just thinking today wether or not i should swap the bottom end to a 6bolt, would it be worth building up the 7bolt(i dont want no crank walk lol).
