I have a 99 GS Eclipse 10th anniversary edition and i The only mod right now is a 2" exhaust and a headunit. I am looking to get spyder auto header, the projector headlights (clear and blue) altezza tailights, B&M Short shifter, and the spyder auto CAI. I am just looking to get some small mods to add some power and make it look a little better. i already have to repaint the whole car cause someone keyed it real bad on the passenger side and there was some curb damage on the bumpers (no dents just traded paint). I would appreciate knowing any down falls for these mods and or companies. My friend had a 98 GS Spyder and used spyder auto with no problem but he could have just gotten lucky.

I'm not sure why this is in car audio, video, and electronics, but here it goes.

If it's really a 2 inch exhaust, then we have a problem.

No.

QUOTE(daham @ Oct 5 2008, 01:09 PM)
the projector headlights (clear and blue)

No.

QUOTE(daham @ Oct 5 2008, 01:09 PM)
altezza tailights

Hell no.

QUOTE(daham @ Oct 5 2008, 01:09 PM)
B&M Short shifter

Unecessary at this point.

No.

The mods you have listed do nothing but look terribly bad.

Proper body work and paint will set you back a couple grand...so ponder that for a while. It should put your mod money on a hault.

Sounds like you need to do some searching.

That's good for your buddy, but you have a GS, not a Spyder.

Specifically, give this a good read:

Then move along to the other stickies.

so what do u suggest cause the mods i am looking to get are on the list of light mods in the forum. if there is a specific company that does excepionally well and has a site i could use to browse that would be nice. Im pretty new to the whole jap modifier world but not in working on cars in general and all i have are mostly euro mod sites.

and my buddy owns a paint garage and since he knows that my car has been messed up by a dick head and so has most of my other cars that he is givin me a huge discount for that and if i come in and help he will give me a discount.

Check the stickies. Tons of links in there for good parts. Did you read my sticky? Maintenance before mods. When's the last time your timing belt was done? I bet you don't know, so do it now. You'll pay 300-400 for that job. It HAS to be done, After the maintenance is done, then do some mods. Short Ram intake, cat-back exhaust, header, udp, etc...

2 inch exhaust? You're car is seriously restricted. Why they would take the stock exhaust off and put a smaller one on mind baffles me. Like i said, you need to do some research. Searching might also show you that these cars are not "jap" cars. They were all made in Illinois USA. Euro mods? WTF is that?

hahahaha i was a strict vw person lol and all ym mods were for euro type cars.

I didn't put the exhaust on but it might be bigger. idk. i just kno its small and not loud but it has its own special sound to it.

and the timing belt was changed along with spark plugs and the throttle body was just cleaned all about 4 weeks ago.

Nice. Now, what are your goals for this car? It won't be "fast" with basic bolt ons. Sadly but truly, the basic breather mods to this car don't free up too much power. If it was me, paint, tint, wheels, drop, and exhaust. That would be hot.

I was thinkin tint. It came with after market wheels and i have a set of adjustable springs from my last car (they are universal thank god) and it has a 4 inch drop. prolly only gonna drop it an 2 or 3 inches due to my area bein crappy (all pa is crappy road wise. trust me i kno from other lowered cars i drove) and i figure that will cancel the off roadin wheel gap and mkae it look better without a ricey body kit. not a fan of body kits.

But my over all goal for this car is to make it sound descent audio and engine wise and make it look really good without makin it into a rice car. I hate seein those civics and what not with the huge spoiler on the back. pointless on a FWD car.

Thats a pic of the car before it was keyed and dented.

Yup. Tint, drop, system, exhaust and call it a day. Any aftermarket tailight looks like shit on those cars, and you already have good headlights on it so don't fuck those 2 up. As far as your "universal springs" they aren't going to fly either.

All I can say is you'll need 1 roll for each side. One roll isn't long enough to do two side windows, but it's enough to do 1 side window and 1 quarter panel.
