94 Dodge Stealth drivers side window stopped working with no warning. Pasenger side works. Have +/- 12VDC depending on switch position at plug to motor. Replaced motor assebly. Same problem. Can operate old and new motor from seperate 12VDC power supply. Replaced both motor and door side of plug to motor. Switch seems to work as I have power to motor plug (door side). I don't think its a ground issue because the two conductors to motor switch polarity not just which one is hot when window switch is operated. I will check lock switch mentioned in other posts but does that apply to drivers door, and I have voltage at motors plug? Thanks.

Sorry for the wrong location. I replaced the entire mechism (motor & parts that attach and move window). I can power both the old and new one from a battery charger and they both move O.K.

Nothing happens at all, No noise, movement, other lights dimming. I will try and check voltage drop at the motor plug with the motor connected compared to it not connected, but will have to cut into wires to get a measurement & have not done that yet. Seems like a long shot and even if its bad I would only be guessing to replace the switch for yet more money.

If the lights are dimming, then it is getting power and trying to work.My daughters mustang did the same exact thing and the only way I got it to work is Tapping on the window motor itself while holding the power button down.It is a little harder to tap on the one you have because of location but, worth a try.

Hope that helps...Mike

the electric window wiring is controlled from the drivers side, any break in the wiring from the drivers side will affect the passenger side, have a look at the connector block in the drivers door for any breaks between the block and A post as they break due to the constant opening/shutting of the door!

Hi,

Don't over think this. You need power and ground to make the motor turn if you have both check to see if the window is stuck. It might just be the switch.

Good Luck

Tony

exactly, breaks in the wires where they go from the inside of the car through to the door, is a common problem, also the ETACS unit under the dash is prone to failures, the circuit goes through that, and it can interrupt the signal by pulling the ground I believe. Also did you say you replaced the actual door switch on the drivers side?
