Bought a JDM 4g63t and it came with a td05h turbo. The mechanic said it has a different set up so he put the old one back on. Will the td05 work on my engine or not?

If that 4g63t came out of an eclipse, you got ripped off and most likely scammed. There is no JDM eclipse.

yes a td05 will work. If its a JDM out of an actual JDM car like an evo then you'll be ok. Chances are tho its a cheap ebay knock off and is a hunk of junk.

If the motor is a true "jdm" then it could have come out of an Evo I-III, or a jdm gvr4. the stock turbo on an Evo I-II being the TD05H 16G-7, and the Evo III turbo being a TD05H 16G6-7.

I'm not sure what kind of car it came out of. Just know what was on the outside of the casing. Anybody know what I need to get it installed? Any way of knowing what type of car it came out of the valve cover was gold or titanium colored.

Drives: 1996 Talon AWD. Built, but no longer drives: 1997 mitsubishi eclipse RS; 1990 Talon AWD; 1995 Talon AWD, 1997 Talon AWD. Seems like a pattern

It is just side to side, but not much, I dont think it will touch the casing inside. no play in and out.

A little side-side is ok. As long as it isn't too extreme you should be fine.
