What up people? This is my first post on mistu forums so please bear with me.

I have searched thru these posts and have not found an answer to my problem.

I have a 1997 Diamante that I recently acquired, Thankfully no problems so far. BUT.....
I found out mid-summer that the AC doesn't work. When I turn on the climate control the snowflake stays steady for a maximum of 1 minute, ( I believe this means the compressor is running) then it starts blinking and my windows start to fog up. I had the AC system recharged but that didn't help, just warm, humid air. I usually tackle most issues my self with my Galant but the Diamante is new to me and im not quite familiar with it yet...

Any suggestions??? Hit me up!!

Check the Intake and Induction section posted by meeh. In there is an A/C and climate control section.

The blinking light can be a compressor clutch fault , or refigerant temp and press sensor at the compressor itself. Or the high side press sensor at the drier/reciever

If yu are good with doing the analog test as i have posted in there it may narrow down the path of things yu need to check. But as for the things i have listed already , id check those first.

Even when the snowflake is steady I still dont even hear or feel the compressor kick in. Im pretty good with electrical systems but when It comes to HVAC and climate control, Im kinda lost. I will try to use your post as a starting guide to help narrow down the problem. I really dont have the $$$$$ to go to Mitsubishi for A/C service plus its almost winter here in New York so I doubt I will be needing the A/C...But I will need it to defog the windows right?

Yes the defroster works well with the a/C as it can vary the ambient air temp autmatically to defrost in mixed weather.

There may be a compressor clutch issue.

In most cases , the compressor clutch may be operating but the internal shaft of the compressor can be broken. So its not pumping the refrigerant.

The a/c clutch head bearings could be going bad and causing too much drag and causing excess clutch operation voltage

The cycle pressure/temp switch at the compressor can be faulty or reading the pressure is too high (system overcharged with freon)

The cycle pressure switch at the drier can be faulty also.
