Quick answer: HELL NO, don't put in the 400.

Further Elaboration: That is a full blown race Clutch. Just because your car may get turbo'ed soon does not make that clutch the right one. FIRST, assess what particular driving you and your Eclipse will see. If it's going to be a TRACK ONLY car then that might be a good choice, otherwise definately not. The engagement will be so rough and abrupt you'll need a kidney belt when you are driving it. The important thing to do is look at the Max torque capabilities of each Clutch and find one that is rated a little above what power goal you are pushing for. Just going off of the assumption that you won't do any crazy build, I'm guessing that an FX200 will be a great chice for you. The Centerforce Dual Friction is also one awsome and well rounded clutch.
If you are actually planning to build the engine internals, fuel system, etc., and run high boost then you might want to look for something a bit more aggressive, but otherwise, I'd stick to a Stage2'ish clutch (regardless of maufacturer).

The FX400 will not damage your car or tranny. Like bloodtype said, the engagement will be extremely rough and uncomfortable for everyday driving, but it will not hurt the car. Either an OEM clutch or a slightly more heavy duty clucth would be more practical for you since this is most likely your Daily Driver. So if you really want a heavy duty racing clutch then go for it, but my suggestion would be to get either a stock clutch or get a stage 1 clutch of your choice.

Actually revising this post. In order to properly handle that clutch you would need a transmission strong enough to hold 500+ hp. And our transmission will not do that. So the FX400 would hurt your transmission because of how harshly it engages. That and when you go to their website, it says it's for strip use only. You put it on a car that's driven alot on regular roads and your transmission will get torn up. So yea, go with a stage 1 from either ACT or Clutchmasters.

add about 8 grand like SC said in another post for the engine and turbo parts you'll need. Its expensive, even more so on the V6. For now put in a stage 1 clutch, better then OE and can take more abuse yet still street friendly.

this is just my $.02

also to put the 400 series in you would need a new LSD. The 400 is a stage 4 clutch and anything over a stage 2 will rip apart the LSD (which in turn will probably damage the transmission as well). Upgrading cars is expensive.

Stage 4 clutch will totally destroy your stock transmission, especially seeing as how you wont be able to use it properly most likely. Those things are meant to handle somewhere in the neighborhood of 500hp. Unless you are making that much power, it is pointless to get one.

Save yourself about $150-$200 and go with a stage 1 or stage 2 clutch.
