Evertime i look up subs on ebay I see name brand combo deals like this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=350099671505
(just an example)

I am a broke college student so I have very little to spend on a system. I dont care about top quality, I just want something that will sound good and last a few years..

My question is, are these crappy old models or are these just overstock at a reduced price?

i have never tried them but i dont think i would want to, because i mean that includes free shipping and the box and sub weigh a pretty heffty amount. so it kinda makes you wonder what makes them be able to sell it so cheap.

but thats just my two cents

I hesitated to look at the ebay link because I don't always trust their quality in products for this. I know that MTX is a good sub but I would not trust to buy them online, and if you buy them in a store then you are going to be paying more than what you want to.

There are some things that you want to think about when purchasing a sub and amp:

You are not just buying a sub and amp you are buying wires as well, which don't always come cheap
You need to think about if you need 2 or 1.
Think about the room provided where your going to put the subs.
What kind of car your putting them in.
What is your budget, which you have already considered.
What kind of bass your looking for.

But if your looking for some bump but not some heart pounding bleeding of the ears then I think you may just want one sub, (this is with not knowing the car you have.) I would suggest maybe a Rockford Fosgate as you can buy them somewhat cheap and they aren't as expensive as some others. Maybe a P1 or P2 if your going on a budget.

The process in finding one isn't as simple as saying "I want some bump," that's what you got to think about. Now you need to find the right size in box and if you want it ported or not.

If you have any questions just post them here. Hope this helps your decision thinking!
