for the little latch in your car right under your steering wheel that you pull to pop your hood. How do take it off?? I basically have the whole car gutted except for that one little piece. I need to take it off to swap interiors and I can't cut the wire behind it because I need it. I can't figure out how to unhook the wire behind that latch for my life. Somebody please help!!!

you have to move it to the right spot so that the cable and little knob on the end of the cable slide out and then you can pull it free. it's a pain and easier to do if you remove the 2 screws that hold the latch to the plastic dash bottom cover
