I just got a nice ass gst and its perfect except for one thing, the oil pressure gauge. It does not seem to work it just sits on L and doesn't seem to even move. Is there a problem? there are no lights that come on or anything.

they don't call it stupid meter for nothing. if you can look at the left driver side wheel will. you can see a sensor right by the crank pulley. it can be a couple of things

1 then sensor it bad
2 the wire its disconnected
3 the wire plug is dirty.

or you can skip all that and get yourself a aftermarket oil pressure and call it a day.

yeah our cars are known for teh BLACK wire falling off the sensor on the oil filter housing. You dont have to take anything apart or anything. Just climb under the drivers wheel and you will see a black wire that slides onto a clip. If thats off (which its prob hanging lol) than theres your problem. If its dirty I would just clean it lol. If all else fails, I agree with attack and get a aftermarket gauge and call it the day

LOL AND military, his car would shut off and not start again. I know from expericence, no oil in motor, will automatically shut off. It will buck and run like shit if its getting low.

Would this gauge cause my check engine light to come on later?

No, and if you just put your key in the on position and look at all the dash lights, there is an oil light. If that sucker comes on, that's when you are low on oil pressure. It's like the gauge and the light are totally separate from each other.
