I have been looking around for a nice looking strut bar for my 09 GTS. The only ones I can find are the multi-piece chromed ones which I think don't look that good. I know that our cars don't have nearly enough power to NEED a strut bar but I simply want to get one for some added under hood appearance. I want to get one that is a solid one piece design and a darker color like a black or grey. The only one I have seen that I liked was the one on drake12483's car in this picture:

Did that strut bar come with the car? Or did he have to buy it aftermarket? Also would a strut bar from or for a Evo X fit on one of our Lancer's?

If I remember correctly, he said he just put the Netami sticker on his stock strut bar.

So, if you like the look of it and you have a GTS, spend $0.99 for a sticker on eBay, and you'll be all set.

yeah its a sticker... I already asked about it!

The tough thing about ebay ones is that not all of them are tight enough.

Road Race motorsports has a nice suspension package that comes with an upper strut bar. And you can buy one on its own aswell. Its more expensive but I'm sure your paying for quality, some of those ebay ones look pretty cheap.

the bar itself is very sturdy and adjustable to fit how you want it to and stainless, the mounts are powdercoated a black color so they wont corrode or anything. ill post pics later

It's not how powerful the engine is to require the strut bar, it's for handling and turning capability to minimize body flex. You don't need a powerful car to hit 100km/h, but try to take a hard merging turn in a flexible car at that speed..

I firmly believe that Mitsu made a smart move putting that strut bar in this car. It increases structural rigidity when taking those hard turns.

I've never heard of an adjustable strutbar. I wouldn't trust an adjustable strut bar. The chances of it snapping at the adjustment point(s) are too high when making hard turns.

I also don't think a strut bar is necessary for street driving. Tracking and auto-X are a different story, but the OP said he wanted it for appearance and not performance. so for the OP, if you want it for looks, you can get the ebay one but I wouldn't trust it for you're going to track.
