Has anyone had any problems with their lancers, like starting trouble, over heating, suspension problems or noises, or anything that you would not expect to wrong with it being a new car? I personally have not had anything happen yet, but I have a friend who was telling me that there have been problems with the new lancers according to the dealer that he got his eclipse at. If any has heard anything or experienced anything please fill me in so I know what is true, false, and if I need to do anything to prevent a future problem.

The only problems I have heard of is the Paint problem (mitsu not using enough clear coats and scratches up nice and easily) and the car pulling to the left.... And the fact the car is sooooooo slow lol..It just looks so damn good lol.....

I haven never had my car pull to the left, but have heard a few people with this problem, and they have no idea wat is it.

As for the paint get 3m clear stoneguarding and some rally armor mudflaps and you should be fine...

As for anything else you are asking about ie: starting trouble, overheating, suspension problems, nothing that I have heard so far and I know a $hit load of people who have the new 08+ lancers. But i will keep my ears open...

First and second gear have been rather rough on both my Lancers. Sometimes it glides, sometimes it *pops* out of first, sometimes it's a rather rough mesh into second. Other times, the clutch will be fully depressed, and shifting into first creates a audible clunk that you can actually feel. Second hasn't been meshing well for me lately, either. I think this is the same transmission as the Scion tC, so I'll have to take one of those out as well to see if maybe it was just Mitsubishi's placement of it that sucks the balls.

I also noticed that when the engine is on, if you move the shifter from side to side, the feeling is similar to pulling braided line over a plastic edge.. I'm not sure if it's a vibration thing or something else, but when the engine is off it's perfectly smooth.

I don't honestly find the 09 GTS that slow.. most people have the 2008s or 2009 non-GTS (hence the 2.0L). The 2.4L definitely has more pick-up and I've found it's actually quite easy to break the tires loose without trying.

Curses lol should have waited another 4 months until the 09's came out... Still quite happy though, but could use more HP...
